Office Depot chooses SLES to Reduce Complexity and Control Costs

One of the world’s largest office supplies retailers can now be officially counted amongst the Linux nation. Like nearly ALL large organizations, Office Depot has a mixed IT environment including Solaris, Windows, Linux, z/OS and i5/OS… however, they recognized the advantages of a global Linux strategy and chose SUSE Linux Enterprise Server on which to standardize as much as possible.
To reduce complexity and control costs, the company selected SUSE Linux Enterprise Server to standardize its IT environment as much as possible. Moving to an open platform that runs on commodity hardware has helped Office Depot to continue to reduce its hardware, power and cooling costs. In addition, Office Depot has saved by moving some of its global ERP applications to run on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server.
